What's a Brown?

In our fish counts you will see that we
seperate Reds (vermillion rockfish) from
Browns (brown rockfish) also known as
Bolina.  Browns are a quality fish that
can grow to be 22.4 inches while our
catch often averages out at 3 pounders.
Browns bite on cut squid, cut sardines
and swim baits the best, but will eat
anything if hungry enough.  They are just
as fun to catch and yummy to eat as
Reds, but we like to seperate them in our
fish count just so you know what is really
going on out here.  One thing you will see
in the fish count every day is Assorted
Rockfish.  Asst. rockfish are Blues,
Johnnies, gophers, starries, tree fish,
barber poles, etc.  So, if our fish counts
show that we are not getting many reds,
we still may be getting many quality fish.
